Ham Radio & Electronics
Come and discover the world of Radio Communications, Electronics & even Astronomy.
Amateur or “HAM Radio” is a worldwide hobby followed by a variety of people from all walks of life that includes communicating with people over radio waves across a variety of the radio spectrum and methods including both voice and digital modes, even morse code is still actively used. People can communicate across towns or across the world directly “over the air” or via Internet connected systems, you can at home, on the road or out in the bush! This hobby works for the hands-on experimenter or user alike, people can design & build their own radio related electronic circuits, radios & interfaces or purchase equipment and just operate and communicate, each to their own. Often in times of natural disaster, it’s the Amateur radio operators that spring into action to provide communications when regular commercial services are not available.
There will be Amateur Radio clubs & astronomy clubs present with equipment on display & members available to speak to about these hobbies and everything they have to offer.
